My career experience as a software engineer has grown from my childhood interests. I've always loved creating stuff and solving problems (using math and logic!). I started programming when I was in high school, where my first project wasmaking a chess playing program. The second the program beat my teacher I knew this is what I wanted to do as a career.Since then I've had a tremendous interest in learning about different technologiesand applying them to a multitude of problems. I'm a firm believer thatnothing makes information stick like applying it to a living-breathing project. This desire for learning has allowed me to pick up problems at work without anyprior experience and deliver valuable solutions. I've learned to love writing clean and maintanable code that makes a difference.From the second I started my first job as a software engineer I learnt a deep respect for unit testing and am now a heavy advocate for its importance in software quality.I'm passionate about how decisions we make as developers affect people,in regards to usability, experience and just making someone's life just that little bit easier.
