My background is a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Barcelona, Spain. As a part of the program, I completed a 4-months internship in a neuroscience lab at Hospital Clínic of the University of Barcelona, from which I gained basic lab skills. Next, I coursed the Research Master in Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience: Fundamental Neuroscience specialisation at the University of Maastricht, The Netherlands. For my master thesis, I joined the laboratory of Emre Yaksi at Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience, Trondheim, Norway. Master InternshipKavli Institute For Systems Neuroscience Nov 2022 - Aug 2023Trondheim, Trøndelag, Noruega8-months internship in the Yaksi group at Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience, NTNU, Trondheim, Norway.The research project focuses on the study of the thalamocortical like circuitry in juvenile zebrafish. In teleost fish, the preglomerular complex (PG) is the major input source to the pallium (termed cortex in mammals). Therefore, the aim of the study is to better characterise the PG-pallial circuitry both at the anatomical and functional level in juvenile zebrafish. During this internship, I gained experience on brain dissections, tracer microinjections, 2-photon imaging, confocal imaging and Calcium imaging, as well as fish maintainance and getting more familiarized with ImageJ, Matlab and Adobe illustrator. -
