Facilitates and performs database administration tasks to provide IT service management processes for a major health care provider including Incidents (24/7), Troubleshooting, Changes, Releases, Capacity Planning, Disaster Recovery, and IT Security. Enables continuous improvement and increases efficiency to stabilize the environment (Front end and Backend) through Performance Analysis, tuning, and task automation. Oversees database maintenance work (ETL Process, DTS packages, Agent jobs, DB objects, MS Cluster server). Key Achievements:• Successfully migrated and upgraded databases across several different versions (SQL 2000, SQL 2005, SQL 2008, SQL 2012) including a migration on VMWare and SAN storage, as well as an Oracle to SQL conversion. • Implementation High Availability Solutions: MS Azure, Always on, Log Shipping, Replication, and Mirroring.• Merging dual technologies from Stand Alone log shipping to Always on Clusters in order to publish 14 tb of data with minimal downtime during migration.• Research and Rectify Memory configuration which was causing a huge performance impact.
