Growing up in Chile, I spent every summer under the cars in my family’s mechanic shop. I loved making our customer’s cars run better and using my trouble shooting skills to diagnose the customer’s problem and create a fix. Since then, my business career has taken me all over the world, literally. And each team I have been part of has energized me with a similar thrill … to help customers get the most out of my company’s products.One of my most fulfilling realizations was that products alone are not really what customers are buying. Instead, they are attracted to the expertise and trust of the people behind the products. My current focus as the Chief Customer Officer of a powerhouse company with internationally recognized brands including Kleenex, Scott, Cottonelle and WypAll, is to tune up the way our team members and team leaders care for our customers. By helping our people prioritize and channel our resources to solve our customers’ problems, we learn and improve constantly. Our innovations as well as our reliable systems are improving with each new cycle of review and development. And nothing helps us more than speaking directly with our customers to understand how we can make their lives a little easier and their business a little better.Large businesses like Kimberly-Clark Professional have complex matrix organizations that depend on diverse and engaged teams to drive excellent performance. Our financial results are an important measure of our success, and I am proud of the financial achievements my teams have accomplished in my many, varied roles. Our growth record has already made substantial contributions from our nearly $2B business.
