I’m an Emergency Services Support Assistant at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, a leading hospital in the DMV region founded on the Jesuit principle of cura personalis - caring for the whole person. I recently graduated from Augustana University in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Philosophy. During my studies, I also studied abroad at the University of Dubrovnik, Croatia, where I took courses in marine biology and the Croatian language. I have developed strong communication, creative problem-solving, and leadership skills through my academic and extracurricular activities, such as being an International Student Ambassador and a Team Leader at Augustana. As an ESSA, I get to care for the patients in our emergency department, recognize and report significant changes in a patient's condition, and perform initial interventions as necessary. Additionally, I am responsible for forwarding medical records, answering and rerouting calls, and exemplifying Georgetown's SPIRIT values in all of my activities. Before joining MGUH, I held other positions in healthcare where I provided patient care services in high-stress environments and strengthened my critical thinking and teamwork skills. I am passionate about applying my community engagement, relationship building, and patient care skills to make a positive impact in my community, and I am eager to learn from and contribute to a diverse and innovative team.
