I teach the unit "Computer Programming" to students pursuing a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Engineering, covering:- Software development methodologies (Waterfall, Rapid Application Development, Agile)- Project structures and roles in software development- Program design using flowcharts, pseudocode, and user interface mock-ups- Programming paradigms, constructs, and standards- Development tools including IDEs, SDKs, and version control- Testing methodologies and reporting- Practical application of programming skills to solve real-world problems

Some of the experience I have gained during this time:◆ Writing C firmware and drivers for MEMS sensors and displays.◆ Debugging faulty code/electronics.◆ Prototype and program asset tracking devices for customized use-cases.

◆ Lead the development of a data logging device for using the Arduino framework to assist the in-house Data Science team with improving their data acquisition pipeline. ● Architected, developed and tested the electronics and firmware based on requirements within 3 months of the requirement arising. ● Collaborated with a multidisciplinary team of engineers in iterating on the enclosure design and integrating the device into the data acquisition pipeline. ● The finalized device cut down time to offload data by more than 1500% relative to the previous data logging device.◆ Developed firmware for a prototype device that will be used for equine health and performance monitoring, which is based on a nRF53 micro-controller and Zephyr RTOS. ● Developed drivers for various MEMS sensor using Nordic Semiconductor and Zephyr APIs. ●Created visualization tools to validate sensor data using Python. ● Developed proprietary BLE services.◆ Maintained proprietary Arduino drivers. ● Took initiative in developing a debugger tool-chain, based on the Black Magic Probe, GDB and VSCode.

◆ Developed application code to test the functionality of various PCBs, sensors and actuators.◆ Manufactured PCBs using SMD and THT components.◆ Designed enclosures and parts to be manufactured by 3D printing and CNC laser cutting.

◆ Worked on Allen Bradley PLCs in a mass-manufacturing environment. ◆ Responsible for developing a machine fault reporting web application using ReactJS and Firebase. ◆ Implemented a timed relay control using Arduino. ◆ Learned about the power infrastructure for manufacturing lines including the usage and operation of VFDs, relays, motor starters and DOL circuits.

◆ Assigned and successfully conducted a project to perform multi physics simulation using Ansys on a Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) to simulate the thermal and mechanical effects when the circuit breaker trips. ◆ Performed product research to assist in procuring a 5-axis CNC mill.◆ Developed macros to automate repetitive administrative tasks using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
