After completing my Mechanical Engineering diploma I started my career in the HVAC industry, which included a accelerated fitter and turner course at the Pretoria west Iscor training centre. I was promoted to Production Manager but left the company to complete a B-Tech degree. After completing my degree I started as a design engineer at Scientific Development and Integration and later promoted to Chief Mechanical Designer (for the laser division), and manager of the design office (isotope division). During expansion of the isotope division of the company I was appointed as Chief Design Engineer of a newly developed isotope enrichment plant which included designing from P&ID's up to manufacturing drawings, manufacturing and plant construction. In 2008 I joined Centurion Systems as a Mechanical Engineer, a consumer goods factory, to expand my design capabilities beyond R&D applications. In 2009 I joined Kelvin Power as a Reliability Engineer focusing on turbine vibration systems as well as vibration analysis on other rotating equipment. In 2011 the performance and efficiency part of the plant was added to my responsibilities and in 2012 promoted to Performance and Efficiency Section Manager. With this I was also acting Performance Engineering Manager. In 2013 I joined Eon Consulting as a Power Plant Engineering specialist focusing in reducing partial load losses on the Eskom power stations.
