Two hundred and fifty years ago this house served as the first stop for pilgrims who entered the Holy Land.Today, the museum serves as the artist’s home and you are invited to explore the chambers she has set before you. Thanks to reconstruction efforts initiated by Ilana Goor, the museum offers arches, internal vaulting rooms and ancient stones, all of which expose the essence of the Jewish hostel which was built in the 18th century.The Museum’s collections boast over 500 works of art, both from Israel and throughout the world, alongside those of Ilana Goor herself. The Museum's works of art include: paintings, sculptures, video art, tribal art, antiques, and drawings as well as design items mostly handpicked by Goor, who also serves as the collector and curator of the collections.Ilana Goor acquired these works of art during her fifty years of travelling in Israel and abroad. Consequently, alongside contemporary works by young Israeli artists such as Ofer Lellouche, Yehudah Porbukhrahi, Sigal Avni and Roi Pajursky, one can find established artists such as Menashe Kadishman, Ya'acov Dorchin and Uri Lifshitz.Moreover, the collections are blessed with international artists such as Diego Giacometti, Olga Wolyniak, Henry Moore and Joseph Albers. She first came to the United States in her 20s and captured the hearts of the locals with her large-buckle belts for men which paved her artistic path in North America. As a result, Goor has been able to launch her impressive talents and has dedicated her main efforts to industry. Goor's first one-woman exhibition was held in 1972 at the California Museum of Science and Industry in Los Angeles.
