Process Engineer responsible for process improvement projects in Utilities, Biomass Boilers, Milling, and Juice Treatment sectors.Activities performed:• Conception of project to change rotary filter to filter press in the juice treatment stage aiming at reducing Pol (% sucrose mass) in the cake;• Conception of energy integration project, aiming at energy recovery from the flash vessel steam stream in the juice treatment stage, using Aspen Plus for process simulation and Aspen EDR for heat exchanger detailing;• Improvement of exhaust gas washing system for Biomass Boilers.• Conception of energy integration project, reusing energy from Biomass Boilers (Bagasse and Wood Chips) exhaust gases, preheating feed water for boilers, thus improving their efficiency.• Validation and approval of a new supplier of anionic polymer for juice treatment.• Reevaluation of mass balance of milling and juice treatment.

Responsible for optimization and automation projects of processes in the sector, both for solid and liquid fertilizer production.Activities performed:• Optimization of solid fertilizer cooling/crystallization process by changing control logic of crystallizer transfer, overflow line modification of hydrocyclone, and connection of pump inverters to DCS (DeltaV);• Support and monitoring of start-up of a new unit for a new liquid fertilizer (review of pump calculations and head losses, study of a new superdecanter set-up, implementation of raw material dosing automation logic, and preparation of work instructions and operator training for production of the new product);• Reevaluation of preheaters reactivation study for efficiency increase of multiple effect falling film evaporators;• Simulation using Aspen Plus and EDR of unit evaporators and dashboard preparation (AVEVA-PIVision) for process equipment indicators visualization.• Study of capacity increase and automation of liquid fertilizer production process (Ajifol/Concorde);• Implementation of measures to address gaps identified in sector skill map;
