Talapin Lab

•Executed a leading role in a multi-team project that for the first time demonstrated the assembly of all-inorganic nanoparticles into strongly electronically coupled supercrystals.•Demonstrated the synthesis of new ZnSe nanoplatelets with ultranarrow fluorescence lineshapes (~4nm) for display applications.•Carried out high-throughput screening of conditions for the scalable and robust assembly of colloidal nanoparticles.

Bawendi Lab

•Designed the synthesis of thick-shelled CdSe/CdS quantum dots and nanorods with nearly 100% quantum yield. •Developed a process to embed quantum dots in a polymer composite that enabled the fabrication of state-of-the-art luminescent solar concentrators (~50% optical efficiency).•Implemented a Monte-Carlo simulation for photon transport in luminescent solar concentrators (efficient up to milllion+ simulations) that allowed for the quantification of the dominant loss channels.•Built custom optical setups to investigate emerging materials via techniques such as single particle fluorescence and absolute quantum yield measurements with accuracy within (± 3%).
