Working on economic analysis and consulting, related to litigation cases, policy and regulation. Doing research at the intersection of Energy Economics and Empirical Industrial Organization. I am particularly interested in the role of regulation on firm performance, and the trade-offs resource owners face between attracting investment, project execution and revenues. My recent research concerns the study of auctions for oil and gas leases in Latin America, the effect of the Jones Act (Mercantile Maritime Act of 1920) on transportation costs and welfare in the U.S and the performance of national oil companies. I have previously assumed executive roles for academic centers in energy in Venezuela, consulting work and before that, worked in strategic planning and market research for a financial group in Venezuela.
