Prof. Igor Lukšić Prime Minister of Montenegro 2010-2012, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Integration 2012-2016, Minister of Finance 2004-2010, Member of Parliament of Montenegro 2001-2003, Member of Parliament of Serbia and Montenegro 2003-2006Luksic stood as official candidate for the UN Secretary General in 2016 advocating for the more efficient and effective UN able to respond to the SDG agenda along with peace operations. He also advocated for the stronger voice of the youth.World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leader 2013 class.Holds PhD in the economics of transition and is a full professor of the University of Donja Gorica Podgorica (powered by Arizona State University) and is member of the Committee for Economy, Anthropology and Demographics of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Montenegro, co-chair of TOJOY Holding Group as well as the member of the Governing Board of Tod’Aers Global Network for 2024. Luksic is Senior Peace Fellow to the PILPG Washington DC and serves in advisory boards of the Boris Mints Institute of the Tel Aviv University and I.I.M.U.N. Mumbai.In the governement Luksic advocated for transparency and was committed to political and economic freedoms giving boost to reforms based on rule of law and business friendly environment. While Prime Minister Montenegro opened accession talks with the EU and completed accession to WTO. When in the position of one of the longest serving Finance Minister of the country, Montenegro pursued significant public finance management and tax reforms, obtained first ever credit rating and made significant steps to improve Doing Business ranking, took part in different projects attracting FDI to the country and coordinated efforts to implement anti-crisis economic policy during the crisis 2008-2009. As Foreign Minister Luksic was among the key cabinet members working to meet NATO membership conditions and was crucial in launching Western Balkans 6 initiative. As a new in-house initiative he set up economic diplomacy structure within the ministry.From May 2016 until October 2021 Luksic was with PwC Southeast Europe dealing with the public sector and ESG portfolio.Published three books of poetry and prose.Married.
