I received an M.Sc (1982) in Physics and Ph.D. (1985) in Theoretical Physics from Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia). He studies seismology at scales ranging from global and nuclear explosions to crustal, exploration, and near-surface. He worked at the Russian Academy of Sciences, University of Wyoming and Rice University (U.S.A.), and now teaches Geophysics at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Morozov’s has broad research interests ranging from seismic data processing and imaging, inversion, theoretical seismology, analysis of controlled-source and earthquake seismic data to developing regional seismic network. His most recent endeavor involves a critical overhaul of the entire concept of Earth’s anelasticity and wave attenuation which were established in seismology and planetary science over the past 50–60 years.
