Editor

Jakarta

As an editor for Home & Decor Indonesia, working for H&D Homes articles covered all about the uniqueness of a home, especially from its interior and architectural sides. In the process of writing an arcticle I usually assisted by a photographer who takes all the pictures to support my writing. The article itself based on interviews with house owner and the interior designer who designed the house. Discussions according the house are usually resulted in six to eight pages description along with several pictures.I too worked on advetorials for international brands such as Toto, Vania Interior, Cipta Merkurius International, Samsung, Informa and Rosewood Living.

Jun 2011 - Dec 2011

Writer

Jakarta

• As a feature journalist. For the first 12 months I was assigned as a feature journalist, who wrote many articles about human interests, ‘how to’s, and several articles related to small business for housewives. In order to write these articles I had to conduct interviews with many sources, for example physicians, public figures, creative workers, NGOs, entrepreneurs, even celebrities. • Working with photographers. To make a relevant impact of the articles and feedbacks from the readers, I have to build strong relationships with the sources by consistently approach them with constructive attitude. I believe this method would make these sources willingly give us the information or message we need. Meanwhile, at the time of interview, I too bring a photographer to take pictures of the subject. In order to make a good visualization, we’d discuss what pictures need to be taken, from which angle and how that would impact on our precious readers.• Working with artistic department. After an article has been written, I still need to catch up with revision from editors or any other update from the sources. Then again, once an article is finished I have to coordinate with the artistic department and the photographer on how we’re going to put the article and the pictures on a single layout (containing two or three pages).• As a lifestyle journalist. In January 2010, my chief editor decided to put me on fashion and beauty columns since she learned that I had a photographic background and passion of fashion. I still worked on feature materials but only in small volumes. Collaborate with chief editor; I’d decide what kind of style or trend that should be put on our next fashion spread (eight pages of them). In addition, I administered the beauty and accessories columns. These new tasks made me work even closely to the photographers and artistic department, since a story board needs to be made before we conduct a photo session.
