I am a certified extreme event modeler and a systems engineer (Ph.D.) with 10+ years of experience in natural catastrophe model development, implementation, and validation.As a risk analytics consultant at Nationwide, I'm responsible for the creation and management of enterprise level catastrophe risk analytics projects. Prior to that, as a quality assurance manager at Extreme Event Solutions at Verisk, I led a team of analysts and created tools and crafted workflows that allow efficient, traceable, and repeatable validation of catastrophe models in all phases of model development and quality assurance. I have worked on all of Verisk's natural catastrophe models and modeling platforms. Before that, during my research years at Boston University, I proposed and evaluated methods and algorithms for synthesizing control strategies for different robotic models from temporal logic specifications. I have a strong background in probability and statistics, stochastic systems, and optimization. I am proficient in statistical and mathematical software packages (R, Matlab), relational databases (SQL), and mapping and GIS tools (ArcMap, QGIS). I am a trained educator and take seriously the role of mentoring in the workplace. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have successfully presented my work to groups of widely varying expertise, from students in a classroom to peers at a conference. I am an author of multiple peer-reviewed scientific research articles.
