I have been a professional rugby player since 1996 having previously played in Canada for a season. I played in Wales for sixteen years and have earned 64 Welsh caps from 1998 to 2010. I recently completed my first season in the English Aviva league playing for London Irish before returning to my original region back in Wales in 2014. Over the course of my career I've gained a wide array of skills. As a member of a professional rugby team and the national squad I've worked on advertising campaigns, partaken in public speaking at networking and corporate events, charity work and supported community initiatives.Part of my role was having regular dealings with the media, taking part in interviews for the TV, radio and broadsheets all with the aim of enhancing the brand of the business. This has extended into punditry work where I've worked pitch side, in the studio or live commentating on games for terrestrial TV.As a coach of the Ospreys age grade system I've worked with the U16s and U18s and achieved my Level 3 Coaching Certificate. A lot of those players have gone on to play senior regional rugby while a few have achieved international honours. Outside of rugby I have a small property portfolio which I've been adding to over the last fifteen years. This is something I'd like to keep expanding and an area I'd like to gain further expertise in. I'm also a keen pilot having gained my aviation licence in 2007. Subsequently I've toured many areas of Europe by air in my Yak-52 and completed further courses in aerobatics and formation flying. I have an interest in health and nutrition especially child nutrition where I would like to expand my knowledge and help tackle the growing obesity problem that we face in the UK. I believe this can be done first of all by educating and motivating the younger generation and their parents.
Listed skills include Rugby, Sports, Sports Coaching, Sports Management, and 19 others.

The main aim of this first expedition was to help raise the profile and gain funds to enable our military leavers a way of transitioning to meaningful employment. I fronted the expedition and wrote a real time blog for the website day to day throughout the event. The 6000 mile return drive to and climbing of Mount Elbrus ( Europe's highest mountain ) was the first event for the charity. There are many more events planned and there is more information in the link provided so please take time to have a look and support this great charity. Lets serve those who have served us !!
Swansea, United Kingdom
Property portfolio manager
Rodney Parade
Having started my career here 18 years ago and with periods at other high profile top level teams I have returned to where it all started. The transformation of the organisation from the turn of professionalism to the present day has been remarkable. I am not just a rugby athlete here, my roles and responsibilities cover many different aspects as follows.Brand enhancement Corporate Hospitality and HostingMedia interaction over many platformsLive television punditry Community interaction and Projects Academy and young player development and empowermentStrategic analysis on opposition and internally Psychological preparation and implementation Code of conduct development and deliveryCommunication link between work force and management Problem solving under pressure Strength and conditioning to meet the highest standards Motivational speakingTeam building The everyday life in this environment is fluid and creates different obstacles to overcome as an individual and a team. I like to think that even under pressure I carry out my roles with a positive friendly attitude showing that it is not just a job to me.
Sunbury/Reading
Currently under contract playing in the Aviva Premiership encompassing everything needed to increase the position and profile of the club. Aside from keeping myself in optimum condition physically and mentally to preform at this level there is also week to week individual strategic team performance analysis, I also undertake many corporate and community tasks as well as all forms of media representation to enhance the clubs brand.
Swansea, United Kingdom
I represented the Ospreys for over 6 years winning 2 league titles and the EDF cup in Twickenham. The environment and the players we had produced a very high percentage of test match players and success on the field, and commercially off it seeing some of the highest replica jersey sales figures in the UK amongst other things. I gained my level 3 coaching certificate and volunteered and coached the regional Under 18's team in which many players transitioned through to senior and International rugby. I also used to present the online pre match previews that went out on the official world wide website promoting the impending event. I was used in many marketing events and am still used even after my departure as the face of positive waste recycling in Swansea.
Cardiff, United Kingdom
I represented Wales as an International Rugby union test player over 13 seasons gaining 64 full test caps and 8 "A" caps. I took part in everything involved with playing test rugby. Aside from the physical and mental demands of the high pressure environment that is test match rugby I also took part in many media and marketing campaigns, as well as community projects and a DVD covering nutrition and healthy eating for children. My role had me cover many corporate and commercial responsibilities including box and company visits as well as functions in British consulates around the world.
Newport, United Kingdom
Having transitioned to a regional rugby format from the old club rugby system as a player I/we had to take on board the extra responsibilities of not only playing to a high standard but being part of the marketing strategy of a new entity. Alongside rugby playing duties I was heavily involved in all forms of media duties to enhance the brand as well as many innovative community schemes that influenced the motivation of young children in many aspects including health and wellness.
