Isaac Mintz is an American photographer and communications specialist.In 2020, a trip to the Iowa Caucuses sparked an interest in documentary photography, where he photographed President Joe and Jill Biden on the campaign trail. In the summer of 2022, he was sent to Slovakia to document the international aid and border crisis stemming from the Ukraine War.One year later, after graduating from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Political Science, he documented Israeli political unrest before continuing on a solo expedition. More recently, he curated photographs for historian Deborah Dash-Moore's upcoming book. The project will illuminate the stories of exiled Jewish photographers from the post-WWI-era.__Believing that politics is a fundamental lever for societal change, Isaac sought out a political science degree. Meanwhile, he continued to become more involved in holistic modalities to address mental health problems that became exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.In university, he facilitated the mindfulness club, garnering experience necessary to understand fundamental human relations with self and others. He also wrote the newsletter for the Student Association for Psychedelic Studies in the School of Social Work, which aimed to promote the medicinal and theraputic applications of the medicine in an academic setting.Abroad, he had fundamental encounters that revealed the power of healing and the nature of existence. Ultimately, this led him to the WHIRLab with the intention of further advancing his understanding of the psychological and somatic experience.
