Dr. Horton has 37 years of experience in technology, patents, international business and finance. He is currently Founder, Chairman and CEO of The Green Blue Marketplace, LLC. He has been CEO of Scientific Production Ventures, LLC, a consulting and finance group 21 years. After completing chemistry degrees at UNC Chapel Hill and Indiana University in Blooming IN, he began his career at the DuPont Company as a drug designer. He then held positions in manufacturing, sales and marketing, strategic planning and business development at the Rohm and Haas Company. His first company, designed, manufactured and installed more than $20 million in Light Pumps. Remote Light’s technology was featured in such places as Disney’s theme parks in Florida, California, and Japan; The New York Stock Exchange; Tiffany & Company, nineteen locations including Paris and Milan; two NFL Super Bowl half time shows; MSNBC Studio; Shanghai Doom Entertainment Center and many more. The products won awards including Product of the Year from the largest entertainment lighting organization, Application of the Year Award and Innovator of the Year from the International Association of Lighting Designers before it was sold. At that time, Dr. Horton began to invest in Nano and solar-related companies as well as starting a water technology company. SPV’s current portfolio and interest includes Utility Scale Solar, UV Water Purification, LED Manufacturing, Medical Uberization, Piezoelectric Wireless Charging, Hydroponics, and Green Floor and Concrete Polishers and Sealants. In its last exist, SPV formed a Joint venture, Tier One Solar, with Hanergy Energy, the largest privately held energy company in China. SPV and its partners, completed the largest two utility scale projects in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Tier One Solar was sold in November 2014. His companies, including Remote Light Inc. have had more than 140 issued patents. He has traveled to more than 35 countries, 48 states and owned companies in Japan, Australia, Belgium and Malaysia.
