As Regional Manager, I am responsible for developing the engagement of local businesses in major projects and other opportunities around Australia. This involves the establishment of relationships with businesses and assessing their capabilities to then connect them into supply chains for major projects and on-going requirements.

This role involved working with small and medium size businesses owned by Aboriginal people by:• Providing mentoring to assist with the development on their businesses• Assisting with preparation of tenders• Developing “business plan canvases” with the owners to help them to understand their business and market and develop their strategic direction• Reviewing and improving business systems• Making connections to aid sales volume growth

This role involved working with a network of Diocesan Directors around Australia to create awareness of Caritas, engage the community and raise funds through campaigns initiated by Caritas National Office. Specific activities conducted include:• Execution of the in-field components of a six-week fundraising campaign that raised $9.3 million. This required the co-ordination of the Diocesan Director network, 21 staff speakers and 4 international visitors.• Staging an annual conference for the Diocesan Director network• Mobilising the network to raise funds for humanitarian emergencies in Haiti and Pakistan• Speaking in public meetings about the work of Caritas• Management of three remote staff located in Brisbane and Perth
