Founded Prodaas, a startup company focusing on providing data analytics and modeling service to financial clients, negotiated with potential investors and finished three rounds of VC funding, acquired key customers, led all the technical aspects of the projects, and contributed directly to the coding and analytics solution of challenging problems. Played with some really large and complex datasets, designed data models for the databases and data warehouses, implemented data curation and ETL processes, successfully put the latest big data technologies in practice, including: Hadoop, Spark, MPP and columnar databases, NoSQL databases, Python, Pandas, Machine Learning, SAS, AWS and other cloud computing products. Worked closely with clients and stakeholders to uncover real business requirements, led the development of custom data tools, including data visualization tools, coding tools, data exploration and analytics tools, provided data analytics and data modeling services, successfully applied predictive modeling and machine learning methods on risk control and fraud detection, and delivered AML solutions to banking customers.

Managed the IT/Data team: in charge of team recruiting/building and project management, key decision maker on core technical issues, and direct contributor on solving challenging problems. Led the development of data analytics and visualization tools, delivered multiple BI and decision support systems to clients within time frame and budget. In charge of the hopital data team, developed pharmaceutical data reports and data fabrication detection algorithm.

In charge of the design and development of DirectMatch online advertising platform, successfully utilized new technologies including GWT and Drools, which greatly boosted business users’ flexibility in setting up advertising rules and the system’s capability in handling rule matching requests.

Served an integral role in scrum teams: providing inputs to scrum masters on task breakout and estimation, working with UI designers, collaborating with other developers, coordinating with other scrum teams like DBA, and working with QA on acceptance testing.Worked directly with customers (IT staff at hospitals) to trouble shoot issues to their satisfaction; provided 24x7 on call support for critical issues.Actively involved in the design and development of various Soarian Clinical modules, including ADT, Charge Capture, Connectivity, Orders and Output Management.
