One of the members of the high committee appointed by Director In-charge of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) to work upon the expansion of BSLb. Worked with Centre for Engineering and Technology (CET) to prepare Pre Feasibility Reportc. Worked with M/s M N Dastur to prepare the Concept Noted. My role involved i. Studying the existing capacity of different departments ii. Production Planning and aligning with the overall plant utilization iii. Designing the Shop Capacity, Shop Layout and logistical interconnection between shops.2. Technical Consultant:a. Reduced the tender evaluation time by 50% by simplifying the overall tendering process.b. Prepared and implemented Price Variation Clause for numerous consumable itemsc. Improved the efficiency of the raw material handling plant by using theory of constraints.3. AMR Proposals and De-Proprietarisation:Led numerous Turnkey Projects of Addition, Modification, and Replacement nature. My role involved carrying out feasibility report, cost benefit analysis, preparation of technical specification, engineering estimate, bidders profiling, price discovery, tender evaluation, preparation of contract, drawing approval, etc. A few of the projects are as:a. Worked on a Project of designing and installation of ETP and STP in Bokaro General Hospital.b. Worked on a Outsourcing Project related to Solid Waste Management System for the township of SAIL, Bokaroc. Led the SITC of Automatic Number Plate Recognition System inside the plant premises of Bokaro Steel Plantd. Designing of the cooling system for the PLC rooms, server rooms, electrical panel rooms, etc.

As the shift in-charge of the Blast Furnace Department (Installed capacity of 5.77 million tons per annum of Hot Metal). I lead a team of 350+ employees, including 10+ executives, working in shifts for the smooth operation of the Blast Furnace in a shift in terms of quality, daily production target, and safety of human resources. I manage all aspects of the shift by working with Stakeholders delivering the key performance indicators and ensure Key Performance Indicators are monitored and targets achieved as per ISO 9001:2015 QMS, OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 50001:2011 EnMS, and SA 8000:2008. I ensure an effective interface with shift managers of other departments is maintained by liaising and communicating with them in shifts.

As an Assistant Manager, I implemented engineering changes, model change, and production trials. I also ensured the timely delivery of hot metal ladle and slag ladle by handling the logistics and support system. I was also responsible for monitoring the working parameters of all the furnaces in a shift and take corrective actions accordingly.

I was the shift-in-charge of Blast Furnace 2, largest blast furnace in the Bokaro Steel Plant. As a shift-in-charge, I was responsible for the smooth operation of blast furnace 2 in terms of production, quality, cost, delivery, technical, safety, and human resources. I used to report and act upon plant or machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians. I introduced Total Preventive Maintenance procedures to improve plant availability, resulting in 80% fewer breakdowns.

As a management trainee, I went through a short induction course of 2 weeks. In this short course, I was given insights into the working of Bokaro Steel Limited. After the short induction class, I have had formal training classes for two months. Then, I was taken to all important shops of the plant and made aware of the processes of those shops.

I joined Visakhapatnam Steel Plant as a Management Trainee (Technical). I worked in the Spares Management Department where I was responsible for various consumable spares and raise indent and procure the spares as per the demand. I was part of the digitization team that was transforming the legacy way of manual record keeping. It helped in improving the visibility of stock across departments and brought down the overall inventory of electrodes by 20%.I then worked in Steel Melting Shop-1 where I was given the responsibility of converting hot metal into steel along with maintaining its quality as per grade.
