In 2024, Demos has 16 ongoing multi-year and multidisciplinary research projects funded by the European Commission and Strategic Research Council funding instrument.On my table I have responsibilities such as:Impact of research activities in relation to the strategic objectives of the organisationthe overall process of research funding: the strategy for research growth and the supporting annual funding plan and management of research funding acquisitionSmooth project practices Overall profitability of activities and staff resourcing Securing of core funding (3 consecutive years of core funding for science and research institutes from the Ministry of Education and Culture)In addition, I enrich my knowledge on just and fair sustainable transition by working as a senior expert in selected research and shorter-term consultative projects.For example, I work as a senior expert in research projects such as NetZeroCities that supports the EU mission 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030 through identifying root causes and barriers to change, and acting as experimentation and innovation hub to test and share new methods, knowledge, and approaches. Science CoordinatorFuture Earth Finland, European Alliance, University Of Helsinki Jun 2014 - Aug 2016Helsinki, FinlandI was involved in launching and coordinating Future Earth Finland and European Alliance for Global Change Research, a Finnish and an European network for global change research, bringing together researchers and knowledge users to jointly design solutions to sustainability challenges. The networks were led by Professor Markku Kulmala as part of the University of Helsinki. The networks were instrumental in bringing and building co-creation practices and thinking to Finland, which is reflected in, for example, the objectives of strategic research funding.I was in charge of the strategic planning and operational coordination of stakeholder interaction.
