After a decade-plus of modeling & research, I'm starting something new in AI.More to come, but here are things that currently motivate me:- We are our best when we collaborate & we can shape our tools / systems to that end- Engineering is a craft that thrives with a cultivating environment- Left unchecked, complexity can be a crutch so simplicity is a virtuePreviously, my time at Spotify spanned from novel research to delivery at scale with everything in between. I published both papers on user understanding & patents built from that work. I've optimized billion parameter models and millisecond latency constraints. I deconstructed ML stacks, designed new solutions, and celebrated deprecating systems -- even for my own code.Last, while I strive for multidisciplinarity, I'm still a recovering physicist at heart and that has indelibly shaped how I approach the world. My PhD was related to the discovery and properties of the Higgs boson, the last particle predicted by the Standard Model.
