Serves as the single point of contact between businesses and developers, streamlining the real estate investment process for businesses and developers by bridging the gap between them and various city and state departments. Provides assistance to businesses and developers seeking to navigate permitting, zoning, business licensing, and other regulatory processes. Serving to strengthen Develop Indy's conversion task force and providing economic development support to its Community Development Corporations (CDCs).

Provided leadership for the Department of Metropolitan Development's (DMD) real estate portfolio, including Land Bank properties, capital and catalytic projects, and industrial redevelopment targets. Collaborated with various DMD divisions, City-County departments, community groups, and external stakeholders to seek redevelopment opportunities for and utilization of City-owned property by facilitating requests for proposals (RFPs). Facilitated the Twin Aire Master Development RFP which brought together DMD, the Health and Hospital Corporation, local CDC, and various community groups to seek comprehensive redevelopment options for the Twin Aire Shopping Plaza and Drive-in site to capitalize on and serve the adjacent and newly created Community Justice Campus. Performed, coordinated, and managed transactional processes for the acquisition, maintenance, and disposition of DMD-owned real estate. Established strong working relationships with elected and appointed officials, as well as their staff, to facilitate communication and coordination regarding major economic development projects within their respective districts.

Mayor’s Neighborhood Advocates connect residents and business owners directly to city government and provide a communications link to the mayor’s office. Job responsibilities include: Providing technical assistance to help residents create new neighborhood organizations and bringing community groups together to combine forces when addressing common issues. Attending community meetings to hear citizens’ concerns and share them with government officials. Educating the public on zoning ordinances and land use issues, and how they can participate in the zoning process. Providing information about zoning ordinances, re-zoning variance procedures, and permitting issues. Connecting business owners looking to expand or relocate their business with available resources in the community. Helping locate vacant properties and buildings. Attending community meetings to hear business owners’ concerns and share them with government officials. Educating business owners on zoning ordinances and land use issues and how they can participate in the zoning process. Providing information about zoning ordinances, re-zoning variance procedures, and permitting issues.
