As Regional Representative, I was responsible for new project originations on the West Coast. This was a very challenging and entrepreneurial position, moving away from day-to-day management of projects and gravitating towards more strategic planning, marketing, and sales. I was in and out of many facilities and I worked closely with a diverse array of clients, from the largest “Big Pharmas”, to medical device manufacturers, to small biotechnology startups in early stage clinical trials.

After working for approximately three years as a Validation Specialist, I was promoted to “Project Manager”. As a PM, I was responsible for the activities of Validation Specialists on my team. Project ranged from 2 to as many as 10 consultants. I managed smaller project initially, but later received larger assignments and increasingly more management responsibility.

Immediately following graduation from KU, I went to work for cGMP Validation, a full service Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Compliance consulting company. As a Validation Specialists, I traveled to the clients site to perform Validation studies on equipment and systems that are involved in the manufacturing of drugs, biotech products, and medical devices. Validation is a key component of any companies QA/QC program.
