Ik holds a combined honours degree (second class upper) in Economics & Geography (1982) and Masters degree in Development Economics from Reading University, Berkshire (UK,1983). He attended executive management programmes at several ivy league institutions: Harvard Business School , Oxford University, Northwestern University(Kellogg school of Management) and Lagos Business School (Pan African University).His work career started as tax senior in Arthur Andersen&Co (1984) then moved to Nigeria-American Merchant Bank Limited (Bank of Boston) in 1989. He joined Fidelity Union Merchant Limited (now Fidelity Bank Plc.) in 1993, rising to General Manager. In 2001, he joined Citizens International Bank as Executive director; rejoined Fidelity Bank as Executive Director 2006 variously responsible for Operations/IT, HR, Corporate services and more recently Treasury& Commercial Banking in Lagos and South West Directorate. He has spent 2 decades in all core functions in banking. He subsequently retired from Fidelity Bank.An associate of ICAN, Fellow of the same Institute, an Associate of the chartered institute of Taxation and Honorary senior member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Nigeria.A certified (IFC/FITC) Board leadership and Corporate Governance trainer and recently attended an IFC training for nominee directors (Paris April 2015)Participated in and facilitated several programs on Corporate Governance and Board Leadership amongst others in Nigeria.Ik has held a number of Board positions at Fidelity Bank 2006-2015, Financial Institutions Training Center 2012-2014, where he chaired the Audit committee and served as a member of the Nominations committee. He currently serves on the Board of a number of private institutions involved in the real estate as well as the Engineering and Construction sector.Ik is currently Managing Director/Chief Executive of Cumbrian Consult Limited, a privately owned Management Consulting firm based in Lagos.
