The aim of the European (FP7) CommHERE project was to improve communication on the outcome of EU-funded health research projects to the media, the general public and other target groups in Europe and beyond. The CommHERE consortium comprised nine partners, all research institutions active in the health research area and responsible for the coordination of EU-funded health research projects. Main responsabilities:- Coordination of the work-package on media relations (WP4)- Administrative management and reporting- Creation and management of communication tools so the CommHERE partners and their scientific collaborators could speak to the media with a unified voice about collaborative scientific projects Examples of communication tools set up during the project:- Common press release for all the partners involved in a research project, so they could disseminate a coherent and unified, while still highlighting their specific achievements- Joint Alphagalileo and EurekAlert accounts- Media events, to highlight collaborations between institutes (media trips, collaborative conferences)

Relations with the French and International media

I worked for research centres specialised in health and biomedical studies, in order to improve their visibility and increase awareness about their work.

Main achievements:- Creation of the Prix Hubert-Reeves: the Hubert-Reeves book award to highlight and promote scientific books for the general public, in French, in Canada; - Organization of a conference with Hubert Reeves for the general public, during the annual science festival « 24 heures de science »;- Organization of a "Café scientifique" on personnalised medicine entitled " On what gene does it hurt?" (in French);- Decision-making on the orientations and the various projects of the association.

Main achievements:- Creation of new types of events to increase visibility for the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) among the Montreal community, both anglophone and francophone; - Maintaining positive and frequent media coverage on the research findings achieved at the Research Institute of the MUHC, at a local, national, and international level; - Improvement of the MUHC website with the use of audio and video clips and pertinent links; - Raising awareness among researchers on the importance of communicating with the media and the general public.

Organization of a communication campaign on the importance of biomedical research in the fight against AIDS.

Main achievements:- Creation of a travelling exhibition on passive buildings (title : "Les bâtiments passifs"), the key project of the association; - Creation and implementation of the communication plan for this exhibition.

Setting-up of separation and analysis protocols for proteins, for the creation of a proteomics platform at the research unit U-311.
