In fulfillment of the compulsory one year service to my fatherland, I was posted to the Department of Agricultural services, Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority, Dange-shuni, Sokoto State. As a Biotechnologist, I assisted the department as follows:• Mapping out plans for plant and animal farms. This involves extensive considerations to get the best place possible that will support plants and livestock.• Planting and watering of trees. This is to encourage afforestation which functions to provide shade for the environment, thus, helps in mitigating the effect of global warming. • Caring for the aquaponics farm. This involves ensuring due availability of feed to the fishes in the pond and proper positioning of plants floating on it. • Evaluating the efficacy of different fertilizer sources on test plants through the use of wastes from poultry, fish farm, sheep and inorganic fertilizer. This involves the application of different fertilizer sources on our test plants to evaluate their effects on the plants and the soil.

1). Maintenance of law and order in the school and ensuring that offenders are duely brought to book for appropriate correction. 2). Ensuring the due registration of new students. 3). Obtaining accurate records of students present in school and those on permission. 4). Ensuring that the optimum academic life of the students are well attended to as well as their general well-being. 5). Daily reports of the school activities to the principal. 6). Guidance and counseling of the students.7). Ensuring the safekeeping of the students' prized belongings and that of the school. 8). Monitoring and taking appropriate care of the school farm. 9). Ensuring that the students speak to their parents or guidance when the need arises.

MSF-B has been at the forefront of the humanitarian aids rendered to the war, hunger and disease ravaged parts of Africa especially Nigeria... In contributing to their humanitarian services, I performed the following functions :1). Cleaning and disinfection of High-risk zones housing Lassa fever and COVID-19 patients. 2). Cleaning of the healthcare workers' stations. 3). Ensuring the availability of personal protection kits at the dressing room.4). Washing and sundrying of boots, aprons and reusable utility gloves. 5). Dressing of healthcare workers in full PPE before they enter the high-risk patients' wards. 6). Assisting the nurses on duty on the admission of patients into the high-risk wards.I'm honoured to lead my life in the service of humanity under their guidance.

The Microbiology Research Laboratory functions as a resource centre for microbial studies. It also serves to train students on basic biological laboratory practices and safety techniques in order to equip them with the necessary skills required for their further studies. During my stay with them, I was tasked with the following:1). Preparation and autoclaving of bacterial and fungal culture media.2). Washing and autoclaving reusable culture media plates and bottles.3). Preparation and gram staining of glass slides containing a subject of analysis.4). Preparation and mounting of glass slides containing a subject of analysis on the microscope. 5). Quality control of prepared culture media. 6). Disinfection of the laboratory workbench including the safety cabinet and ensuring proper workflow within the laboratory.
