I have over a decade of editing experience with five years specializing in academic work. Working as a freelance editor helped me develop a generalist’s set of skills: I can edit for structure, content, and copy as well as proofread and format. The wide range of genres and writing styles I have edited includes articles, dissertations, and edited volumes in the humanities and social sciences. This gave me experience with different style guides, including APA and Chicago, and taught me to quickly adjust to new style sheets. In preparing dissertations and collected volumes for submission and publication, I polished formatting and maintained consistency across hundreds of pages. Five years as a writing tutor and teaching assistant taught me to communicate compassionately to sharpen writers' skills and bring out the best in a draft.

My primary role was as out-of-classroom support for the Structured Education Program (SEP). I worked with underprivileged and first-generation college students to bring their reading and writing skills up to standard. I created individual lesson plans so I could focus on each student's particular weakness. My weekly sessions with the kids helped students improve their grammar, organization, reading comprehension, study skills, test-taking skills, and more. In addition, I also served as a campus tutor, helping students gain content knowledge in English, History, Art History, and Philosophy.
