Fitness HQ was a chain of specialty fitness stores located throughout the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex, Austin and San Antonio. Fitness HQ was recognized as a Top #1 - #5 dealer nationwide for all major product lines which they carried. The company was also recognized by manufacturer's for having industry leading sales people in terms of both product knowledge and sales effectiveness.As Vice President of Retail I was directly responsible for every aspect of the company's operational and sales functions that included, but were not limited to:Purchasing - negotiated all product pricing, managed all vendor contracts & relationships, placed all purchase orders, selected suppliers company would represent, determined what products would be sold at given price points.Inventory Management/Merchandising - visited all retail locations to determine which/how products would be displayed on store floors as well as determined what inventory was carried at store level and in regional warehouses. Selected inbound/outbound freight methods in order to manage corporate freight costs. Retail Sales - responsible for hiring & firing all employees, ensured all stores sold using a standardized corporate philosophy by training store managers & sales people in said sales method. Travelled to all store locations to train/support store managers and sales people onsite. Ensured all manufacturers sent representatives to store locations with frequency in order to provide continuing product education. Retail Locations - was part of site selection process, alongside store managers worked directly with contractors to develop and execute both physical store design and design finish out. Advertising & Marketing - worked with advertising agency to develop print, radio and television campaigns. Initiated move away from print to digital marketing.Product Development - used frequently by multiple manufacturers to provide input on design and functionality for new products.
