Arizona Regional Director
CurrentCommon Sense Media is a national nonprofit organization based in San Francisco that works to improve the media and education landscape for kids, families, and schools. We focus on helping kids, educators, and parents thrive in a world of media and technology. As the Arizona director, I work to create and facilitate partnerships with education, business, and philanthropic leaders; develop policy/strategy for Arizona; build a statewide presence for the national, independent nonprofit; advocacy; fundraising; and serve as a liaison for our local advisory council. My current role focuses on ensuring all kids and families have a safe and meaningful experience with technology. That includes securing affordable access to high-speed internet and devices, promoting digital inclusion training and IT support for all families through anchor institutions and community partners, supporting children's privacy online, and enhancing safety for kids and families as technology evolves. Families and kids new to the internet will need support for affordability, but to ensure that they have meaningful use of the internet, they must also have digital inclusion support. At Common Sense Media, we are working to help families safely navigate all that the internet and new technology have to offer so that they can have more control over their experience and become producers, not just consumers.
