TRION - 2nd generation - Funded by NATO science for peacehttp://www.fneurad.de/Continued development of a neutron imaging system based on hydrogenous scintillator converter screen and gated intensified camera systems (ICCD). The neutron imaging system was modified to include multiple-gated intensified camera systems (ICCD). A key element is a newly-developed optical amplifier which generates sufficient light for the high-speed intensified camera system, even from relatively faint light sources. Utilizing the Time-of-Flight (TOF) method in conjunction with a nanosecond-pulsed neutron beam, the detector is capable of simultaneously taking up to 4 radiographic images, each at a different neutron energy.2. Fast-neutron imaging spectrometer based on liquid scintillator loaded capillariesA fast-neutron imaging detector based on micrometric glass capillaries loaded with high refractive index liquid scintillator has been developed. Neutron energy spectrometry is based on event-by-event detection and reconstruction of neutron energy from the measurement of the knock-on proton track length and the amount of light produced in the track. In addition, the detector can provide fast-neutron imaging with position resolution of tens of microns.
