My post-doctoral research is titled "Urban Potential in the Evolution of Nicosia's Public Realm" and focused on theoretically developing the concept and definition of 'urban potential', as well as establishing a set of criteria to identify urban potential in the context of low-density, dispersed urban environments. The aim of the research was to develop a methodology of city-wide analysis to effectively identify local areas which have the urban potential to develop into sustainable local centres within Nicosia's metropolitan region.

Lead researcher for the project 'Historical evolution of urban segregation: mechanisms of differentiation through space and time.' As part of this research project, I undertook a space syntax analysis of the city of Nicosia since the end of the 19th century to the present day while mapping in GIS both historical and contemporary social data, as well as running a quantitative analysis of the relationship between the urban form and the distribution of different social groups.
