Started with controlling the Consumer & Online (C&O) business in Finland. C&O is known for consumers with brands like MSN and outlook.com / Live.fi. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) business controlling was added to my responsibilities half a year later. The OEM side consisted of local PC businesses as well as Multi-National ones like HP.Responsibilities:- Full P&L responsibility for C&O business- Revenue responsibility for OEM business- All aspects within Budget, Forecast and Mid-Year Review.- Western Europe Finance and Corporate Finance communication- Business Partnering with local Leadership teams.

I worked as a Controller for the Finance Department of Sulake Corporation (main products were Habbo Hotel and IRC-Galleria). We had operations in 20+ countries. Six legal entities were handled by our team in Helsinki and the rest by outside accounting partners. I was in charge of Finance IT systems ensuring up to date functionality and set up of tools used (Basware Group Consolidation and Business Planning, Business Objects DW, iScala accounting system). I had a leadership role in the senior executive team with responsibility of defining the new working model for procurement and logistics operations in the Elisa Corporation. This included defining the new ways of working and processes within, evaluating and presenting various alternatives (e.g. SAP R/3) to the management, negotiating with suppliers and leading the internal workgroup work. My business case calculations showed the possibility of over 30 M€ cost reduction with minimal personnel redundancies.I was in charge of collecting, consolidating and analysing the yearly purchasing figures for the top management of Elisa Corporation. I also contributed to various other outsourcing or restructuring projects by making the business case calculations and attending the negotiations. I was one of the Elisa representatives in the strategic cooperation negotiations with Nokia and Siemens.

Sonera Zed Ltd.I was in charge of the Communication Home (zedmail, Calendar, Contact Book) of the consumer zed platform. I also managed the Change Request process which was at that time used to either develop existing products further or add new features for the common platform of zed.Sonera Corp. / Telecom Finland- various projects e.g. programming a product to receive your emails to your mobile (1996), voice-interface to your email (1996), Internet shop (1997), new product process development and implementation for New Media unit of Sonera, Intelligent Network matters for Sonera Sweden and a partnership company in Germany.

The International Congress ’98 was a cooperation project between Finland and Sweden in Helsinki and Stockholm. The 10-day congress consisted of 3 parallel summits for students, alumni and business participants totaling 1400 persons from 90 countries. The congress theme was “Taking Responsibility” which reflected Corporate Social Responsibility from various aspects and acted as a change agent for Finnish Business society. I was in charge of the Finnish organization for 4 years managing 8 Team Leaders and 50 Team members. During the conference I led the organising team of 170 persons from 24 different nationalities. Our budget was 1,1M€ of which 70% was covered by fundraising. In total we managed to attract 95 Partners (companies, ministries etc.). Leading this project gave me excellent project management, fundraising, presentation and facilitation skills.
