My love for learning and writing about the complexities of the world, politics, people and places, came during my second to last semester in college. I decided to join the university’s newspaper, looking for a creative outlet and a challenge, and instead found a calling. I love talking to people, capturing their experiences and personality in pictures and then opening up those life stories for others to be inspired by. Since the development of this new dream I found, I spent over a year working my way from Education Reporter to Special Projects Reporter, developing much needed experience. After graduating with a degree in Political Science and Public Policy, I was able to work as a Politics and Education Reporter for the Post Register Newspaper in Idaho Falls, Idaho. This experience more than quadrupled the number of stories I was producing and gave me the chance to work with many new members of the community, where I developed several professional relationships and was given the chance to grow exponentially. Everyone has a story, they just need someone to tell them that their story deserves to be told.
