About Ilene A. Serlin

I have been a psychologist and dance therapist and have worked with mind/body health for over 35 years. I'm currently in practice in San Francisco at Union Street Health Associates and Marin County, where I see individual clients, run groups, supervise students, and write. My most recent writing is a 3-volume edited set by Praeger on Whole Person Healthcare, a submission on Dance/Movement Therapy for the Corsini Encyclopedia of Psychology, and an article in the National Psychologist on Working with Trauma in Israel: Lessons for America. Recipient of the 2018 Rollo May Lifetime Achievement Award, and a proclamation from San Francisco for 9/22/18 as Ilene Serlin day.I'm particularly interested in continuing to train healthcare professionals in mind/body therapies, and to bring the arts back to the art of therapy.Specialties: Mind/body therapies, women's issues, existential issues of meaning and purpose, spirituality, movement and imagery for health and wellness.
