As a researcher I collaborate with project teams for the Food & Beverage and Home, Health & Beauty business units, providing lab and technical support for new package designs.My applied knowledge of key testing equipment and methods has helped me develop and execute new and current test methods in order to determine successful performance criteria and create fully involved data reports to release to commercial and marketing leads. I have worked with Instron compression and tensile testing, dimensional analysis, compatibility and performance testing on current and new market offerings. For one of my most involved projects, I assisted with the preparation, assembly and technical testing as well as drove design improvements of prototypes for a new MWV dispenser that meets updated 2015 regulations. I contributed in the assembly of prototype samples for Child Resistant/Senior Friendly Testing and research. With successful passing of this test, my knowledge in the design of the product helped to freeze a design to enter the market that would meet all desired criteria. As a result, Design Intent was demonstrated and the project has progressed from concept to pre-production in less than 1 year with an intent to release by end of 2014.Interviewed and oversaw the employment of temporary help for the R&D department. Trained new employees in test methods and procedures run at MWV. Supported the employment process and led the training of temporary employees to build MWV’s testing capabilities and maintain our focus in moving innovations forward.

While at Quaker, I worked in the Packaging R&D Department mainly on innovation and maintenance of the Bars Platform as well as providing extra project support in Quaker Foods and Snacks (QFS) and the Global Nutrition Group (GNG). My projects included work on CMPs, lab testing, updating and maintenance of current and new bars packaging specifications and implementation of packaging assembly specifications. I worked with many different people in cross functional departments inside Quaker as well as outside suppliers and co-packers. I attended Pack Expo in Las Vegas during my time at Quaker and introduced the company to possible new suppliers that would benefit the evolution of Quaker.
