I have completed a Bachelor of Social Work and am currently employed at The Department of Communities and Justice as a Child Protection Caseworker, implementing social work theory, framework and skills into my work with children, young people, and families with complex needs, experiences of trauma, and different culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Through my time at DCJ I have completed the Caseworker Development Program which equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to work with families and children in the space of child protection to effectively complete safety assessments, risk assessments, and case work. I use a number of frameworks and approaches that ensure I am working respectfully and meaningfully with the families and children I work with. These include and are not limited to person- centered approach, trauma informed practice, strength based approach, attachment & developmental theory, solutions - focused practice, and safety oriented practice. . I have the the crucial ability to operate in fast-paced environment and display effective use of interpersonal and communication skills, and easily establish appropriate and effective professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and customers.
