I was a part of a globally dispersed team at a consulting agency. My role involves maintaining and enhancing legacy code bases as well as creating new applications from the ground up, leveraging a diverse range of tools.

Maintain a solid and stable web application, review pull-requests, and design solutions for new features.Returned to a project I had previously worked on. Redesigned it using a Bootstrap template. Optimized both the pages and server code to better serve a larger client base. To delegate my job tasks, we hired a few junior developers, whom I taught the best practices in Ruby and involved in the project. Then began enriching the client-side with Vue.js.

Worked as a sub-contractor with a RedHat engineers on open-source cloud management tool (ManageIQ). I fixed bugs, added AWS S3 integration and participated in weekly meetings.

In a team of 2-4 developers I took full ownership of the legacy project. * Optimized and refactored system, decrease requests server time from 20 seconds to less than 1 second. It allowed to increase user base and continue system extending.* Developed new and updated existed integration with payment systems (Paypal, Amazon, Stripe, Xsolla) as well as other 3rd party systems (Steam, Bandcamp).* Added Anti-fraud payment protection to decline stolen card usage in our service. * Built documented API for mobile apps, added Push Notifications integration. * Built single page application based on Backbone.js for partners of Groupees. * Implemented internal digital products trade platform* Added real-time communication for chats and notifications based on Faye library and Redis pub/sub. * Added Jenkins to simplify working process with CI. * Practiced crossed code-review with teammates.

Worked with a team from different timezones (US/EU). Wrote specs, fixed bugs, optimized web-requests, and added new features using Ruby on Rails and jQuery.

I was invited to the startup “Uber for truck drivers” as a sole developer. In a few months I implemented J2ME app for the old phones and CRM on Ruby on Rails for a transportation company to manage it. In a small group supported and improved enterprise Java application for one of the biggest insurance companies. Learnt the principles of Agile methodology, TDD, how to estimate tasks, and determine priorities.

It was origin of Science Center “Parallel and Distributed computing” in university where I studied. I solved technical and some of administrative issues with computing cluster. I helped engineers to prepare their scientific applications for parallel computations.
