Associate acoustical engineering consultant in the Architectural Acoustics department. I worked primarily on multi-family housing projects including exterior to interior noise, airborne and impact sound transmission (interior to interior, roof to interior), HVAC noise, room acoustics, and MEP noise. My duties included performing exterior noise surveys and analyses, performing building acoustics testing and analysis, developing design goals, reviewing drawings for acoustical items, overseeing construction as it pertained to acoustical items, and writing reports for all tasks. I also worked with the marketing department to respond to RFP's and provide technical knowledge.

Research with fellow intern. Review of mechanical drawings for compliance with codes, standards, and the client’s requirements. Performed on-site noise and vibration measurements with B&K Type 2250 and 2270 sound analyzers. Used excel, AIM, Measurement partner suite - BZ 5503, and BK Connect to collect, predict, and analyze noise and vibration levels.

Evaluation of schools, mines, and other public and private establishments using Excel, Pottorff, CadnaA, and Insul. Evaluation of the noise and vibration measurements inside and generated by these establishments relating to local, state, and national codes to ensure compliance. Used Larson Davis 831 meter to take continuous sound level – both short- and long-term – and reverberation measurements.
