• Responsible for the delivery, people and health of three cross-functional squads. Each team consisted of backend & mobile engineers, a PM, and a designer. People management of 14 backend engineers.• Improved the backend hiring process by enhancing the ways of interviewing. Reduced the time to hire by 35% by introducing live coding as an interview step.• Mentored and promoted five engineers from junior/mid to mid/senior, where I also coached three of them to evolve into tech leads.• Introduced initiatives like the first microservices, new databases (MongoDB, Timescale), and tools like PubSub that allowed the engineering team to scale in the long term.• Proposed the architecture and led a redesign of the app’s home page, which reduced the P99 latency from 3.1 secs to 80ms.

• Worked on a backend service (Kotlin/Java with Spring Boot) that was responsible for automating the listing procedure of the properties directly from the back office application to property rental websites.• Proposed and implemented a CQRS initiative of properties from the Back Office database to MongoDB that improved the average response time of the service from 50 seconds to 4.• Worked on a microservices architecture project, responsible for competition analysis. The tech stack was either a Kotlin (Spring Boot) or Node.js for each microservice and it depends on their nature.• Redesigned and migrated the back-office application from a Spring MVC to a REST API that integrates with an Angular application.• Dockerized and created CI pipelines (Jenkins & Gradle) for multiple microservices. Implemented and released multiple AWS Lambda functions (JavaScript/TypeScript) to cover business needs on-demand.
