Ilia Zaitsev is a professional HCI designer specialized in Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. In 2005 he graduated with distinction from St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts with a master degree in Multimedia design, and in 2008 gained a PhD in Computational Linguistics. From 2006 to 2011 Ilia was a Senior Lecturer at his alma mater.In 2003 Ilia founded a software development company, completing over 60 projects before, in 2006, starting to work on chatbot projects including Russian version of Cleverbot. In 2008 he joined Existor Ltd as a Natural Language UI researcher, responsible for bot projects, including ones for Intel, Sberbank and Ulmart, and an educational bot that received a Microsoft grant. Ilia has also developed mobile apps for Existor. From 2015 Ilia has worked principally on Emotional AIs, researching and implementing many machine learning techniques, one example being an innovative affective neural model. In 2016 Ilia collaborated with Stanford University working on psychological aspects of Human-Agent interactions.
