Profile bio

About Ilika Ghosh, Ph.D.

I am a passionate neuroscientist with a unique academic journey spanning plant biology, nanotechnology, and neuroenergetics. With a broad range of skills in cell biology, toxicology, and nanoscience, I transitioned to neuroscience for my postdoc, driven by my passion for unraveling the mysteries of memory formation. My work integrates cutting-edge microscopy and cell and molecular biology to explore neuronal energy supply and use. I have built a state-of-the-art imaging system to visualize and measure the energy currency, ATP, in live neurons during memory formation. Whether leading research projects, mentoring, or contributing to professional networks, I bring a collaborative, positive, enjoyable, and goal-oriented approach to advancing science and fostering inclusivity. In the future, I aim to bridge fundamental neuroscience with toxicology and nanotechnology to develop innovative solutions for neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

Listed skills include Research, Manuscript Development, Nanotoxicology, Comet Assay, and 2 others.
