Information Management Advisor
CurrentAs UHCC’s Information Management Advisor, I am responsible for raising UHCC’s information management capability by promoting information as a strategic asset and championing information management to increase understanding of why it’s important.I identify best-practice information management-related opportunities for business improvement and take my recommendations for priority information management initiatives to our Information Management Governance Group (which I am responsible for establishing and driving).Examples of my recent initiatives approved by our Information Management Governance Group include:- Initiating, developing and setting up our Information Management Governance Group. (I established the group and its terms of reference in 2020 – which are: “to support the development and implementation of a governance framework for information management, to ensure operational practices support business outcomes and to ensure coordination across information-related functions including privacy, freedom of information and information security”.)- Audit of our high-value high-risk information.- Recommendations for managing UHCC’s records to meet our legislative obligations under the Public Records Act 2005.- A new Information Management Policy covering the use of Microsoft Teams.- New Information Management procedures (“how to” guides).- Development of Information Management competencies for employee Performance Development Plans.I have led, developed and a new UHCC Information Management Policy for 2023, updated it for 2024 and developed a three-year Information Management Strategy covering 2023-2025, which was approved for adoption by our Executive in late 2023.I have raised Information Management capability across the organisation by proactively ensuring each employee joining UHCC receives an information management induction. I have held numerous Information Management education sessions to increase awareness of best practice Information Management.
