Projects: - Commodity price forecasting. I investigated the applicability of the advanced neural network approach for prediction of a commodity price on 1-12 months horizon and developed the forecasting models. Tools: multivariate time-series modeling with LSTM networks, Python, Keras/Tensorflow, Scikit-learn, ARIMA models- Development of a data driven web application (backend part).Developed a server back-end of a web application that suggests the best composition of a cleaning agent that would either maximize the performance or minimize the components cost. As a postdoc, I have mainly been working on an international research project where we study the phenomenon of surface instability under ion irradiation. In our computational group we design, perform and analyze simulated irradiations of Si and Ge targets. Such simulations generate hundreds of gigabytes of raw data that requires careful processing and statistical analysis. The key skills that I have developed working on this project: efficient data processing and pipelining by C++ and Python scripts; cluster computing; parallel algorithms; Monte-Carlo methods; statistical modeling, data mining, regression analysis in R; reporting and visualization.
