I’m a Senior fraud expert/investigator with a solid practical experience and theoretical knowledge (17 years) in the field of preventing and investigating various types of external and internal Fraud. 9 years spent in the position of the Senior Investigator in Economic Crime Police department, where I investigated Money laundering and Fraud cases, resulted in sharpening of different skills like interviewing and interrogation, attention to details and deep-dive analysis.Starting from 2011 as an Money laundering expert and Latvian Police contact point I participated in various international conferences and work groups organized by EUROPOL, European Police College, AMON (Anti-Money Laundering Operational Network), strengthening international cooperation. European Police College selected me among top 6 police experts to update Anti Money Laundering training methodology for police officer across the Europe.In 2015 I switched to the financial sector where I have worked more than 7 year in two largest Banks in Baltics. During this period of my career been I have involved in numerous investigations of External and Internal Fraud and Financial Crime, as well as physical security incidents in retail branches and attacks against ATM's or other Bank property.Beside conducting investigations I participated in different projects across the Fraud risk and Conduct risk area like developing internal regulations (e.g. Code of Conduct, Conflict of interest, Gift and events, Internal investigations, etc.), Internal Fraud Operating model, Conduct Risk framework, establishing the employee due diligence process.As a Stream Lead of Internal Investigation project together with the team we are working on developing overall framework of Internal Fraud prevention, monitoring, handling, reviewing and reporting.During my employment I took a role of subject matter expert in areas of Conflict of Interest, employee and vendor due diligence and internal investigations, providing advice and expertise to organization and management.Around 100 different trainings delivered to employees on different topics (e.g. Conflict of Interest, Bribery and Corruption, Fraud prevention, Physical security, etc.)
