illesha makes art with hope for a more loving world. Her practice is her tool to walk the distance of one heart to another. She researches emotions and landscapes, using art as a connector between what is inside the heart and what is around the body. This work often looks like photographs, poems, films, books, drawings and gatherings. She sometimes runs an organisation, ikattha, that brings together artists to co-create collective spaces of experimentation, feedback and friendship. In a constant search for home, her art practice has become a way of home-making for those around her, and herself. It is something like nesting: collecting and connecting documents of life, proof of existence, archives of love.
