Engineering Manager
Brought in to advance the E-Commerce sector, I quickly saw to advancing both infrastructure and code quality in alignment with multiple vendors. Initially starting with Wordpress, we moved to Contentful to facilitate a proper relational database model, while keeping some services on serverless frameworks via AWS lambda, such as user messaging and rewards programs. This involved building GraphQL queries for proper data modeling, and cache hydration due to static content being needed to serve to customers, outside of proper product updates. I lead the charge on optimization and componentizing multiple services for reuse.Tool Sets: Terraform, Datadog, AWS (Lambda, Fargate, Cloudwatch, CloudFormation, RDS, EC2, EKS, ECR, Cognito), GitLab CI, ReactJS, GraphQL, NextJS, Frontastic, CloudFlare, Netlify, Jest, NightWatch, Algolia, Stellate, Contentful, Redis
Senior Solutions Architect
Brought in to advance multiple product streams being investigated within the Research and Development domain. These products included Quick Checkout Machines that utilized machine learning algorithms to instantly identify items in store, and Cashierless experience stores utilizing face detection and product detection during the customers visit. These were handled via multiple micro-services for product detection, camera tracking, cloud orchestration, and financial transaction API’s all built by our teams in house. Database architecture varied from RDBMS to NoSQL depending on data-retention and data referencing needs, and in needs for scaling architecture. We led a major increase in client retention and interest, as well as automating many other departments across the entire domain of the company.Tools Sets: Terraform, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Logstash, Docker Engine, Docker Compose, Python, Terraform, AWS (Lambda, Fargate, Cloudwatch, CloudFormation, RDS, EC2, EKS, ECR), Kubernetes, Jenkins, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Artifactory, ReactJs, NodeJs, GraphQL, NestJs, NX, Swift, Kotlin

Senior Solutions Architect
Brought in to convert a legacy application into multiple microservices for use in the cloud rather than on-prem servers, I quickly assumed the lead role in relations to DevSecOps and back-end services. With major clients already using the service in multiple countries, there was high concerns to high availability in multiple world-wide regions, geo-fencing, database sharding, and serverless Lamba functions for faster speeds depending on client location. In order to help with cost savings probability, I developed a mapping system for client properties taking data from our databases of property rental costs, and monitored data from world-wide weather systems to allow our system to predict possible major weather phenomenon that would add cost based upon damages and repairs, viewable through the ArcGIS system, which received much appraise. Tools Sets: Terraform, Docker Engine, Docker Swarm, Docker Machine, Docker Compose, Python, Java, TomCat, ArcGIS, AWS (Lambda, ECS, Fargate, Cloudwatch, CloudFormation, RDS, EC2, BeanStalk, EKS), GCP, Azure, HAProxy, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Fluentd, Kibana, Artifactory
Solutions Architect
Brought in to lead a from scratch infrastructure for an Artificial Intelligence start-up, I quickly adapted to the leadership role, and quickly implemented a cross-platform High availability network across multiple cloud services. Utilizing Kubernetes for orchestration and Datadog services for monitoring, I built out Ansible scripts for self-healing application failures upon specific alarm types from multiple services. RabbitMQ was deployed for handling massive traffic as a message broker service, which vastly improved latency issues. All internal services are built via Python for application use, and Scala for Data Science metric services. I built out management scripts via Terraform as well to help automated orchestration and deployment services as well.Tools Sets: Ansible, Docker Engine, Docker Swarm, Docker Machine, Docker Compose, Python, Scala, AWS (ECS, Fargate, Cloudwatch, CloudFormation, RDS, EC2), GCP, Azure, HAProxy, Kubernetes, Jenkins, CircleCI, Terraform, DC/OS, CoreOS, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Datadog
Lead Engineer
Initially starting as a contractor, I quickly assumed a leadership role and was brought on full-time after multiple successes on a client project. Being a part of a budding new Web team, I established standards for Front-end Architecture with Angular and React, Mobile architecture for both iOS/Android, Back-end architecture and restful setup utilizing node.js, and created pipeline for deployment using the in-house preferred Jenkins service, building with Docker containers and secrets (wrote a plugin for injecting secrets from the container via functional calls), Artifactory pipeline for mobile applications, and orchestration for high availability with Kubernetes and NGINX. After success with a hybrid mobile application, I moved on to projects involving mobile service for consumer phones, apps involving media streaming utilizing v9 video compression, and currently lead a team of 20 developers involving financial transactions and big data visualization.
Development Lead - Verizon Cloud Platform
Brought in Under the Verizon Cloud Platform to help with Application Deployment, Service Monitoring, Database Administration, and to Automate processes pertaining to Hardware break-fix procedures.I lead advances pertaining to collecting pertinent information from live hardware for reference and status monitoring, utilizing tool sets like Icinga for alarming as well, and creating Ansible Playbooks and Python scripts for constantly reporting live hardware info, providing accessibility to many departments via a gateway API, with SQL tables with temporal table reference. I also built hardware for tracking and destruction of disposed hardware components (hard drives, power supplies, etc), which are being utilized in numerous Core build cloud sites. With this venture also came a request to build live rendered 3-D models of actual stack hardware being used, and an interactive portal where on site operatives can visually and kinetically learn how to replace/repair live equipment. This tied into a creation of a new Ticketing portal that my team created, so specific tickets could automate running scripts on hardware during application pinning or firmware issues, as well as pulled up the 3-D model to walk the on site tech through the procedure, minimizing downtime and overall cost. Tools Sets: SQL, Ansible, Jinja2, Python, Icinga, StackStorm, Docker Engine, Docker Swarm, Docker Machine, Docker Compose, OpenStack, OpenStack Heat, RedHat KVM, 3DS MAX, Maya, Blender, ReactJS, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, JSON, RESTful services, Jest, Mocha, Chai, Karma, Istanbul, Circle CI, Selinium
Software Development Manager
Brought in as a Technical Lead to aid with the process of converting legacy projects to better frameworks, leading a TDD initiative, building efficient Continuous Deployment and Integration pipes lines for automated processes, and building internal applications with BI platforms for multitudes of clients. Tools Sets: ReactJS, Angular 4, Typescript, ES6, PHP, Python, Gulp, Webpack, Node.js, Express.js, SailsJS/TrailsJS, Redis, NGINX, PostgreSQL, MySQL, CSS3 / CSS4 (flex styles), SASS, Bower, RESTful services, Docker Engine, Docker Swarm, Docker Machine, Docker Compose, AWS EC2, AWS DMS, Jasmine, Mocha, Chai, Karma, Istanbul, Circle CI, Adobe Creative Cloud (photoshop, illustrator, after effects), Selinium, Protractor, VS CODE, Android Studio
Software Development Manager
Beginning as a Technical Lead in the Personal Investing organization, I was tasked with creating a TDD initiative alongside moving many of their outdated application stacks into the forefront with AngularJS. This also included pitching the importance of Material Design standards and Persona creation to the UX teams, and Educating QA on the standards of Unit, Integration, and Functional Testing. Following this initiative, I was quickly moved up to management over department wide TDD and BDD implementations, as well as creating C2C (click-to-compute) portals for departments to immediately launch working VM’s on an On-Prem Server stack running OpenStack. Much of these machine were launched via Ansible playbooks, service monitoring with ansible tower, on-demand orchestration using Docker and Docker Swarm, and automated configuration of Ubuntu or CoreOS. Other responsibilities included creating a Quality Skills development program which would educate all company developers and engineers on proper code practices, while still conveying a sense of Tool Agnostic Architecture. This involved creating an interactive learning portal, as well as on-site training classes. Creating this portal also opened doors for my team to work on Smart Automation processes for better Continuous Integration and Deployment standards. This process involved switching our deployment strategy towards Docker Containerization for a more modular service layer for RESTful platforms, not to mention optimized load balancers. A big challenge was configuring Swarm for our personal use for On-Prem Enterprise Server stack, for which we built our own automated application container service.
Full-Stack Developer / Ui Designer
Clients include American Heart Association, Auto Anything, and Gateway ChurchAmerican Heart Description:Brought into the Business Technology Organization of the National Center, American Heart has expressed a desire to advance forward in the mobile and web application space, in congruency with their e-commerce focus. Starting with a mobile interface to sign-up members at their biggest conference, it’s success advanced into a Usability Study and Redesign process with their main website and membership portal. It began with transferring their translation layer of an out of date ATG 2002 platform, into the modern era with a MongoDB schema, which can handle data model using the ObjectId type better than their out of date Hash Map Tables. SOAP services were set up for an MVP project, to pull any required API’s from their old database, while newer RESTful services were set up simultaneously for the new database (and to enhance more secure connections). Data was easier to navigate due to the Node project anatomy, and the MVC framework of angular. I then assisted teams with writing proper unit tests within Angular using Karma and Jasmine, as well as putting Angular’s two-way data binding and local storage capabilities to work to receive data faster, and keep incentives for retuning members making them want to upgrade. Also creating an Agile methodology in the office assisted these transitions and co-creation of an MVP and 2.0 project very smoothly.
