Brought in to lead a from scratch infrastructure for an Artificial Intelligence start-up, I quickly adapted to the leadership role, and quickly implemented a cross-platform High availability network across multiple cloud services. Utilizing Kubernetes for orchestration and Datadog services for monitoring, I built out Ansible scripts for self-healing application failures upon specific alarm types from multiple services. RabbitMQ was deployed for handling massive traffic as a message broker service, which vastly improved latency issues. Initially starting as a contractor, I quickly assumed a leadership role and was brought on full-time after multiple successes on a client project. Brought in Under the Verizon Cloud Platform to help with Application Deployment, Service Monitoring, Database Administration, and to Automate processes pertaining to Hardware break-fix procedures.I lead advances pertaining to collecting pertinent information from live hardware for reference and status monitoring, utilizing tool sets like Icinga for alarming as well, and creating Ansible Playbooks and Python scripts for constantly reporting live hardware info, providing accessibility to many departments via a gateway API, with SQL tables with temporal table reference. I also built hardware for tracking and destruction of disposed hardware components (hard drives, power supplies, etc), which are being utilized in numerous Core build cloud sites. With this venture also came a request to build live rendered 3-D models of actual stack hardware being used, and an interactive portal where on site operatives can visually and kinetically learn how to replace/repair live equipment. Beginning as a Technical Lead in the Personal Investing organization, I was tasked with creating a TDD initiative alongside moving many of their outdated application stacks into the forefront with AngularJS. This also included pitching the importance of Material Design standards and Persona creation to the UX teams, and Educating QA on the standards of Unit, Integration, and Functional Testing. Following this initiative, I was quickly moved up to management over department wide TDD and BDD implementations, as well as creating C2C (click-to-compute) portals for departments to immediately launch working VM’s on an On-Prem Server stack running OpenStack. Much of these machine were launched via Ansible playbooks, service monitoring with ansible tower, on-demand orchestration using Docker and Docker Swarm, and automated configuration of Ubuntu or CoreOS. Other responsibilities included creating a Quality Skills development program which would educate all company developers and engineers on proper code practices, while still conveying a sense of Tool Agnostic Architecture. This involved creating an interactive learning portal, as well as on-site training classes. Creating this portal also opened doors for my team to work on Smart Automation processes for better Continuous Integration and Deployment standards. This process involved switching our deployment strategy towards Docker Containerization for a more modular service layer for RESTful platforms, not to mention optimized load balancers. A big challenge was configuring Swarm for our personal use for On-Prem Enterprise Server stack, for which we built our own automated application container service.

Starting with a mobile interface to sign-up members at their biggest conference, it’s success advanced into a Usability Study and Redesign process with their main website and membership portal. It began with transferring their translation layer of an out of date ATG 2002 platform, into the modern era with a MongoDB schema, which can handle data model using the ObjectId type better than their out of date Hash Map Tables. SOAP services were set up for an MVP project, to pull any required API’s from their old database, while newer RESTful services were set up simultaneously for the new database (and to enhance more secure connections). Data was easier to navigate due to the Node project anatomy, and the MVC framework of angular. I then assisted teams with writing proper unit tests within Angular using Karma and Jasmine, as well as putting Angular’s two-way data binding and local storage capabilities to work to receive data faster, and keep incentives for retuning members making them want to upgrade. Also creating an Agile methodology in the office assisted these transitions and co-creation of an MVP and 2.0 project very smoothly.

Taking charge of the Design and Development process, giving Tragon’s new game changing product a simple interface and well thought out user experience is priority. Working with the latest frameworks available such as AngularJS, D3.js, Ruby on Rails, amongst many others, we are able to streamline the process. The concept of this application is to reduce months of statistical research, and condense it into a quick Visual Representation of Analytical data.

Working within Verizon’s Corporate Technology Organization, I have served several roles within the creative team. I have focused on user experience and development roles and activities throughout my tenure.
