On 8th of February I launched #salvaiciclisti, a political campaign aiming to improve cyclists' safety on Italian roads, based on the british campaign "Cties fit for cyclists" launched by the Times.Just using guerrilla strategies, in less than 10 days we got our proposals presented to the Italian Parliament signed by 60 MPs; In 10 days our group on Facebook has been joined by more than 5.600 people. Today there are 20.000 people supporting our cause. More than 100 municipalities and 5 regional councils joined our petition.On April 28th, 50.000 people joined in Rome the biggest ever cyclists' demonstration.On May the 14th #salvaiciclisti received a support letter from the Italian Prime Minister, Mario Monti.On June the 14th, more than 200 bloggers published simultaneously an open letter to the Italian parliament asking for more rights for cycing commuters.My duties are: to keep relations with Italian political parties, members of the parliament, media, journalists, other associations and with other bloggers; to find out communication strategies for promoting our causes and to advocate them through the #salvaiciclisti website, through my blog on the Italian newspaper "il Fatto Quotidiano" and on the radio blog on "Ecoradio" on Monday morning.
