Assisting Syrian statusholders during their integration and participation process so they can become self-reliant as fast as possible. My tasks routinely included providing practical assistance with questions and issues regarding housing, finance, education and health. But also helping with extending their social network in Rotterdam.

I conducted a research on why certain refugees from Syria choose to live in Diyarbakir city instead of a refugee camp and what kind of livelihood strategies they use since international aid is not common in such cities.

I conducted a research on local municipal context and support for the PVV and the SP. This article, "PVV and SP: ideological adversaries, but the same breeding ground? The effects of municipal factors on electoral support for a right-wing and a left-wing populist party across 403 Dutch municipalities in 2010", got published in March 2016 in a Dutch journal 'Mens & Maatschappij'.
